Since its establishment in 1973, HKS Co., Ltd. has been striving and contributing to create a car that can make driving fun, based on the business philosophy "The craftsmanship that appeals to people’s senses”.

In 2023, with the support and encouragement we have received, we were able to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our founding. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all our business partners and related parties who have supported us over the years for their understanding and cooperation.

Soon after the start of the company, we released our first turbo kit for a commercial passenger car. Following that, we have cultivated "Car Tuning” culture while developing and delivering high-performance parts such as exhaust systems, suspensions, engine parts, and electronic parts for those who are car enthusiasts.

At the same time, we started and promoted development of race engines, and continued on to development of various engines including single-cylinder engines for motorcycle racing, horizontally opposed engines for ultralight planes, and 12-cylinder engines for the FORMULA 1 racing.

Making the best use of the experience we gained through development of aftermarket products and race engines, we are developing and manufacturing various aftermarket automotive parts and OEM parts by engaging in consigned development and joint development with car manufacturers as well as production of prototypes and mass production items for them.

HKS has actively taken environmental protection measures under the current circumstances where urge on zero-emission and establishment of energy security intensifies globally. From the early stage, we have been exploring more efficient use of fossil fuel and continuing development of bi-fuel systems, which run on natural gas or LP gas as an alternative fuel to gasoline.

In recent activities, considering the future use of renewable energy such as hydrogen and carbon-neutral fuels. We have been involved in the development of high-efficiency engines through industry-government-academia collaboration and are promoting decarbonization. In response to the rapid electrification, which is happening this once-in-a-century transformational period, we are conducting research and development of various parts and technologies such as battery packs and EV conversion technology, not only for automobile application but also for industrial application, while continuously studying and adopting leading edge technologies.

Furthermore, we are committed to realize a sustainable society while actively working to solve social issues. For example, we have offered IoT devices for agricultural filed to solve issues of aging population in the field, released devices that can reduce the risk of Coronavirus infection as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic started, and developed a safety monitoring system that can prevent children from being left on the school bus.

Our strength is that we can create original products and parts that cannot be easily imitated by our competitors. This can only be done by incorporating the reliability and durability developments made through the production of OEM and aftermarket products. HKS will continue to work together as a company to meet the various demands of our both domestic and international customers having a global perspective.
